This tour will take you into some of the most breath-taking landscapes of northern Europe. The vast and mostly uninhabited wildernesses of both northern Finland and Norway await.

The tour is designed for clients willing to push themselves physically while enjoying the phenomenal sceneries in the real Arctic region. Each driving day varies in route distance and skill level, as the terrain changes multiple times during the driving days. However, each driving day is a full day snowmobiling with driving time dependent on weather conditions and collective driving skills.

Please note that this is a tailor-made tour, available for the mentioned dates only. Same and similar tours are available for groups of minimum 6 persons on request. For all tours, please feel free to contact us at

Day 1

Your guide(s) will meet you at Ivalo airport. From there, you will enjoy a short ride to the first night’s accommodation in a hotel in Ivalo village or Saariselkä. During the evening you will be issued with all the required equipment that you will need on your adventure. Your guide will also go through the specifics of the tour during a good welcome dinner.

Day 2

The first push north (approx. 200km)

We start off the morning with a healthy breakfast, as we will need it. After breakfast, your guides will go through a thorough driving and safety lesson before departure. You will be introduced to all required features of the snowmobiles and equipment double checked.

We leave the village behind us to set out on our first day of adventure. Todays landscapes will alter from frozen lakes and marshlands, to dense forests and backwood tracks. Lunch will be enjoyed along the way.

Arrival in the evening at the accommodation will bring a smile to your face. A warm sauna will be ready for you and a wholesome meal will be waiting. You will go to sleep with a great smile on your face.

Day 3

Over the border (approx. 250km)

After breakfast, we set off yet again into the wilderness. Leaving Finland behind us, we set off into the mountainy terrain. The tracks follow the border rivers, then climbing into the mountains. Narrow passages, steep climbs and mountain tops as far as the eye can see. These areas are ones many will never see, as they are accessible by very few methods, luckily you are riding one.

Lunch is guaranteed along the way, but most likely a light one. Between Finland and our destination, there is literally nowhere really to stop. This is the genuine Arctic.

In the evening, coming down from the mountains, the distant lights of Mehamn at the northern tip of Norway are a sight for sore eyes. As we drive into the yard of our cabins, we are greeted by the owner. Saunas will be warm and your dinner warming in the kitchen. For a small village of only 800 inhabitants, you will be amazed by the cuisine and level of service. A thoroughly enjoyable feast awaits you before a well-deserved good night’s sleep.

Day 4

Rest amongst the Fjords

Mehamn offers a one of a kind atmosphere. A small fishing village touching the Arctic Ocean has a small but friendly community. You may spend your day off just relaxing at your cabin, taking a walk around the village, or join a king crab fishing excursion (to be booked in advance).

Lunch and dinner are served at your accommodation.

Day 5

The adventure continues (approx. 250km)

We depart from Mehamn for another day in the mountains. After a day of rest, the thrills of the drive return. We take stops to take in the scenery and enjoy some snacks. By now, you will feel a part of yourself within the wilderness and you will be able to fully enjoy the full day of driving.

The evening will bring us back to Finland and we will again enjoy the warmth of the sauna and tastes of local cuisine. Why not be brave and test the Finnish tradition of rolling in the snow between taking in the mellow heats of the sauna?

Day 6

Southbound (approx. 170km)

Driving south is easy, after all, it’s downhill right? The forests get more dense as the solid treelines re-appear and the terrain has an everchanging feel. On this day we are able to make a good solid stop for an indoor lunch at a local wilderness location.

We arrive in Inari early evening, ready for an ample meal and quality accommodation.

Day 7

Final day and festivities (approx. 70-120km)

Our final day allows us to choose our routes and driving styles, even allowing some stoppages for some deep snow driving. Covered distance on the final day is not extremely long, as to give us more freedom in deciding how it is spent.

Arrival in Ivalo or Saariselkä in early evening, we prepare for a festive dinner for the last time as a group. Both Ivalo and Saariselkä have options for local night-life, another experience by itself.

Day 8

After breakfast, your guides will provide a airport transfer to Ivalo airport. For now, it is goodbye, until we meet again. Everyone can be proud completing the tour as it is after all, the Arctic Extreme.
